By now, people has a lot of different point of views about this picture.
the common POV: The one who helps has the good intention. And that doing a bad thing is already evil in the sight of men.
from a diff POV: The one that seems nice always has a reason to pretend. And the one that seems like a bad person owns a good intention.
It's hard to pass judgment between good and evil or what makes them so different, because people have different point of views about this matter.
What I just thought is that, what seems good is not entirely good, and what seems bad may not be bad at all.
Other explanations: The old man's pale face represents sickness and almost death. The loaf of bread represents the life a person could cherish and share.
The cane represents the support we have during our years in our lives. The sack to lock away bad memories, forget the past, and keep moving forward.
The running shoes wherein we would always run away from our fears. And to the bare foot of a child, when we were courageous enough to face our own fears.
